I first met Jess in the late 90's/early 2000's around the time when I was attending The Hallmark Institute of Photography. She was the younger sister of my close friend, Rosa and she was obsessed with The Backstreet Boys. Our light hearted, youthful spirits bonded us nearly instantly. Flash forward a bit. I had tickets to see what would be one of the best concerts I have ever attended, Incubus at New England's own, UMASS Mullins Center. Plans with friends fell through and who ended up accompanying me but Jess and some by the name of Mike that she brought along. This happen to be their first date. (Mike was awesome by the way!)
As life tends to deliver things back full circle, it did just that yet again in 2011. I finally caved into outside nudges and this photographer captured a wedding for the first time. It was Jessica and Mike's!!! Since then, I've had the honor photographing their first pregnancy in portrait form as well as their first round of professional family photos.
Two weeks ago today, Jess, Mike, Jane, little George and myself revisited the location Jess and Mike got married in Holyoke, MA. To be honest I teared up during this portrait session. It happened during the moment I overheard Jess point and say to her daughter Jane, “this is the exact spot Mommy and Daddy got married.”
I love you guys! Thank you for being so wonderful and gifting me the opportunities of capturing integral moments in your lives together. To view more images from their recent family portrait session visit, http://www.kimberlyhatchphotography.com/Portraits/Families/Bernard-Family-Portraits/
