Embrace your inner hero and shine. Real Moments Captured.
Honestly, what can I say about Dana Ouellette and Matt LaMontagne's New England Father's Day wedding? That all sixty of their guests consistently filled the wedding reception dance floor, which is utterly unheard of? That matron's from the civil war era graced the couple with their elegant presence? That there was an ultimate battle of good vs evil between Jedi's and Sith Lords, light sabers and all? That the flower girl, dressed as Yoda, declared the couple married? That every single person in the room, young and old, broke into the theatric Rocky Horror “Time Warp?” That the iconic Titanic Ship, complete with fog ambience, compliments of an abundance of dry ice, floated center stage onto the dance floor of the Hampshire College Red Barn wedding venue in Amherst, MA? That Dana and Matt “flew” alike Rose and Jack?
Believe me or not, every one of those details happened on Sunday... shockingly without a hitch. Uncle Jimmy certainly did a lot of “dotting the I's and crossing the T's” orchestrating, crafting and executing such an over the top surprise. Sure, I could focus on all of that, but do you know what out-staged quite possibly one of the most elaborate performances occurring during a wedding? Dana and Matt. I lost myself observing and photographing Dana incontrovertibly absorbing all that was unraveling before her. I appreciated the uniqueness of Dana and Matt simply enjoying themselves, each other and the fact that they were just married with just a few of their loved ones on the back porch while the party continued inside. I reveled in the fact that despite the big extravaganza they are so grounded and in one with the moment, that all they sought towards the end of the day was a scenic country view, the sweetness of ring pops, and one last contra dance of the day. This was serendipitous for the contra dance is what united these two souls. I was taken back as Dana floated on the dance floor with the fluidity of melting ice sliding across a piece of warm glass as Matt guided her spins.
May the love you share, Mr. and Mrs. LaMontagne guide you through life with such ease.
